Jack Pine chose his namesake for the rising-phoenix like qualities of this tree who's seed may only be sown by the heat of a devastating forest fire. This is a chance to experience the poetic beauty of the Jack Pine story for yourself.

This Bonsai tree kit comes in its most elemental form - a hard as rock, sealed Jack Pine pinecone. Not just any Jack Pinecone... this one was picked from a majestic tree that grandpappy jack planted at the entrance to the ancestral island where the music for "Left To Our Own Devices" was written.

With the pinecone comes a box of matches, a peat puck, and instructions on how to make the fiery magic happen. Briefly: use the match to light a fire to open the pinecone to get the seed and plant it in the mug.
